CrossFit to Build Strength

CrossFit’s founder designed the program to improve overall fitness, and that includes building strength. No matter what sport you play or how competitive an athlete you are, increased strength will make you better. CrossFit training you do in the supportive community under the trained eyes of our certified trainers will make you better still.

The Benefits of Increased Functional Strength

CrossFit workouts employ functional movements. When you increase strength through functional movements, you increase your capability and ease with everyday tasks.

Increased strength improves overall fitness by:

  • Maintaining bone density, lowering your risk for fall-related injuries
  • Building muscle mass, which boosts your basal metabolism, helping you achieve and maintain a healthy body weight
  • Improving body mechanics, which reduces your risk for injuries and pain caused by compensatory movements

CrossFit does not specialize, but the strength-building component can still help you push to the next level of sports performance, especially if combined with a sport-specific training program.

CrossFit for Strength Training

CrossFit is not your only option for strength training. But, it may be your best option if you:

  • Like (or need) the motivation that comes from group workouts in and with a supportive community
  • Need boredom-busting workouts to keep you going
  • Enjoy challenging yourself and seeing how your performance stacks up to other CrossFit-ers
  • Are new to strength training and would like the benefit of a certified coach or trainer nearby
